Biography
Alexandra Maison is a young composer, multi-instrumentalist, and project leader based in Quebec. After training in modern music and electric bass performance in France, she began a bachelor's degree specializing in arts and musicology at the University of Toulouse. It was during her final year that she decided to cross the Atlantic, where she discovered her passion for musical composition at the University of Sherbrooke.
Inspired by the wonderfully macabre aesthetic of Danny Elfman for Tim Burton's films, and of Russell Shaw for the Fables adventure game series, her latest creations are tinged with a balance between the sweetness of fantasy and the strangeness of the unknown, while marrying the orchestral with the electronic : LA Noire, Follet, or Heart of Ice, which earned her the OSET composition competition win in 2025. Recently, she has also been composing and arranging more orchestral and epic works for adventure video games : Final Fantasy VII (Checkpoint Orchestra), Call of Victory, Warriors of the Mountains, Cyberpunk, and more.
Beyond composition, her perseverance and dedication have led her to participate in several large-scale projects in recent years : composing the soundtrack for several short films, including Spring (2024) in collaboration with Nicola Laflamme Ledesma, for whom she will also play saxophone for her final Bachelor's degree project ; playing in the Broadway UdeS percussion section; and as a soloist on the promotional video for Jacob Lefrançois's new EP: Intelligere.
